We like to think of it as kindness, but often, it’s something else entirely:

1️⃣ People-pleasing is a form of manipulation.
You’re not just being “nice”—you’re trying to control how others see you. True kindness isn’t driven by fear of rejection.

2️⃣ Saying ‘yes’ when you mean ‘no’ is dishonest.
If you’re constantly agreeing just to avoid conflict, you’re not being authentic. Boundaries aren’t mean—they’re honest.

3️⃣ People-pleasing is rooted in self-protection, not generosity.
If you’re bending over backward to keep others happy, ask yourself—am I doing this for them or to avoid my own discomfort?

4️⃣ Being liked isn’t the same as being respected.
Saying yes to everything might keep people happy, but at what cost? If you’re constantly seeking approval, you might be sacrificing your own self-respect in the process.
