I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), providing psychotherapy and clinical supervision in Monsey, NY. I currently work as a psychotherapist in a private practice and serve as Clinical Director at an OMH outpatient mental health clinic, where I provide clinical supervision and administrative oversight.
My primary work is with adolescents and adults, struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions and relationship issues. I utilize client-centered, attachment-based and psychodynamic therapy approaches. In addition, I integrate techniques and skills from various modalities and trainings, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic Intervention, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and the Nurtured Heart Approach (parenting).
Working from a holistic perspective, I take the whole person into account in order to better understand the nuanced needs of each individual and formulate viable goals. The therapeutic relationship and process plays a large role in a client’s progress and growth. Having a warm, safe space to express and explore one’s experiences and feelings with a compassionate, understanding therapist, can itself be transformative. In addition, obtaining practical skills and tools can be a catalyst for change and self-development. The ultimate goal is for one to be able to acquire the necessary tools and skills and incorporate them on their own, to lead an independent life.
As a clinical supervisor, I assist clinicians in conceptualizing cases and exploring their “personal process” in their work. Additionally, I take into account the parallels that often exist between the supervisory and therapeutic relationships.
I have worked in both clinic and school settings, providing psychotherapy and counseling to children, adolescents, adults and couples, presenting with a wide range of struggles, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, OCD, oppositional behavior, ADHD, social skills and boundaries, self-esteem, and family issues.
I received my MSW from Long Island University and hold CASAC-T and SIFI certifications.
