Online Therapy in Manhattan

Most Manhattan clients meet us by video. When you want to come in, the 3 train runs straight to Kingston Ave in Crown Heights.

Even if you're across the bridge in Manhattan, Crown Counseling brings Brooklyn's warmth and expertise to you through telehealth. Our secure video therapy sessions mean you can get the same quality care from your home, office, or anywhere in Manhattan. Whether you're in Midtown between meetings or at home in Harlem, our therapists work around your schedule with morning, evening, and weekend availability. We accept all major insurance plans.

How video sessions work

Our clinicians are licensed in New York State, so a client in Manhattan gets the same therapist, the same session and the same insurance coverage as someone walking into our Crown Heights office. Before each appointment we send a secure link. You need a camera, a connection and a door that closes.

If you ever want to come in, you can. Most sessions are by video. For occasional in-person visits: 2/3 Train: Take the 3 from anywhere on the West Side or Lower Manhattan straight to Kingston Ave, then a short walk south. 4/5 Train: From Grand Central or Union Square, transfer to the 3 at Nevins St or Atlantic Ave–Barclays for Kingston Ave. A/C Train: From the West Side; ride to Nostrand Ave in Crown Heights.

Questions from Manhattan

Are your therapists licensed to see someone in Manhattan?⌄

Yes. Every clinician is licensed in New York State, which covers Manhattan. Sessions are by secure video from wherever you are, and if you ever want to come in, our office is at 1398 Carroll Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

What do I need for a video session?⌄

A phone, tablet or computer with a camera, a reliable connection, and a private place to talk for the session. We send a secure link before each appointment; there is nothing to install.

Is video therapy as effective as in person?⌄

For most people and most concerns, yes, and the research on it is consistent. Where in-person work matters more, for some children or some trauma treatment, your clinician will say so and you can come to Crown Heights for those sessions.

Do you take my insurance?⌄

We are in network with most major plans, including Medicaid, Healthfirst, MetroPlus and Fidelis, and video sessions are covered the same way as in-person ones. Tell us your plan on the intake form and the office will confirm coverage first.

What happens after I fill in the form?⌄

The office calls you to ask what you are looking for, match you with a clinician who works in that area, and find a time that works with your day.
