Hi, I’m Devorah. I’m a licensed clinical social worker with deep roots in supporting individuals, families, and communities—especially those navigating developmental disabilities, life transitions, and the everyday challenges that can feel overwhelming. For nearly two decades, I’ve worked closely with people and their families, first as a case manager and later as a program director. Much of my career has been spent at The Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services, where I helped build and oversee programs that served hundreds of families. I’ve guided teams delivering case management, respite, day habilitation, and community supports, always with a focus on dignity, practical help, and real results. I’ve also led vocational programs that connected people with disabilities to meaningful paid work, and I’ve partnered with state agencies, funders, and interdisciplinary teams to make sure services stayed high-quality and accessible—even during challenging times like the pandemic. These days, I also teach and mentor the next generation of social workers as Director of Practicum for the Brooklyn cohort at Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work. I supervise students, build agency partnerships, and help future clinicians develop the skills and heart this work requires. I hold a Doctor of Social Welfare degree from Wurzweiler, building on my MSW from Hunter College and years of hands-on clinical and administrative experience. What I care about most is meeting people where they are. Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, a family member, or navigating systems that can feel complicated and frustrating, my approach is collaborative, practical, and grounded in respect. I believe good support should feel human—not clinical or distant—and that every person deserves to feel heard, capable, and connected to meaningful opportunities. I’m glad you’re here, and I’d be honored to work with you.
