Online Therapy in Long Island

Nassau and Suffolk clients meet us by video. Every LIRR branch ends at Atlantic Terminal, a short ride on the 3 train from our stop at Kingston Ave.

Whether you're in Nassau County or Suffolk County, Crown Counseling's telehealth services make expert therapy accessible from anywhere on Long Island. Our licensed New York State therapists provide individual, couples, family, and child therapy through secure video sessions. We accept most major insurance plans and offer flexible scheduling to work around your Long Island commute and family life.

How video sessions work

Our clinicians are licensed in New York State, so a client in Long Island gets the same therapist, the same session and the same insurance coverage as someone walking into our Crown Heights office. Before each appointment we send a secure link. You need a camera, a connection and a door that closes.

If you ever want to come in, you can. Most sessions are by video. For occasional in-person visits: LIRR: Any branch to Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn, then the 3 train to Kingston Ave.

  • Call or text 988. From a 212, 718, 646, 917, 347 or 929 number you reach NYC 988 directly; from any other area code, ask to be transferred to NYC 988. Chat is at nyc988.cityofnewyork.us.
  • NYC 988 can send a Mobile Crisis Team to you, anywhere in the city, between 8 am and 8 pm, seven days a week. You can ask for one for yourself or for someone else.

Questions from Long Island

Are your therapists licensed to see someone in Long Island?⌄

Yes. Every clinician is licensed in New York State, which covers Long Island. Sessions are by secure video from wherever you are, and if you ever want to come in, our office is at 1398 Carroll Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

What do I need for a video session?⌄

A phone, tablet or computer with a camera, a reliable connection, and a private place to talk for the session. We send a secure link before each appointment; there is nothing to install.

Is video therapy as effective as in person?⌄

For most people and most concerns, yes, and the research on it is consistent. Where in-person work matters more, for some children or some trauma treatment, your clinician will say so and you can come to Crown Heights for those sessions.

Do you take my insurance?⌄

We are in network with most major plans, including Medicaid, Healthfirst, MetroPlus and Fidelis, and video sessions are covered the same way as in-person ones. Tell us your plan on the intake form and the office will confirm coverage first.

What happens after I fill in the form?⌄

The office calls you to ask what you are looking for, match you with a clinician who works in that area, and find a time that works with your day.
