Questions from Upstate New York

Are your therapists licensed to see someone in Upstate New York?⌄

Yes. Every clinician is licensed in New York State, which covers Upstate New York. Sessions are by secure video from wherever you are, and if you ever want to come in, our office is at 1398 Carroll Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

What do I need for a video session?⌄

A phone, tablet or computer with a camera, a reliable connection, and a private place to talk for the session. We send a secure link before each appointment; there is nothing to install.

Is video therapy as effective as in person?⌄

For most people and most concerns, yes, and the research on it is consistent. Where in-person work matters more, for some children or some trauma treatment, your clinician will say so and you can come to Crown Heights for those sessions.

Do you take my insurance?⌄

We are in network with most major plans, including Medicaid, Healthfirst, MetroPlus and Fidelis, and video sessions are covered the same way as in-person ones. Tell us your plan on the intake form and the office will confirm coverage first.

What happens after I fill in the form?⌄

The office calls you to ask what you are looking for, match you with a clinician who works in that area, and find a time that works with your day.
